Queen Dhaatri Valiya Rani of Vengunad built this sprawling palace in 1890 on a site that once was a Kalari - the training ground for Kerala's renowned martial art form, Kalaripayattu. The Queen strived to retain the cultural ethos and the Ayurvedic traditions that are so ingrained into a Kalari. Today this magnificent palace is ready to welcome you to a holistic healing experience based on the time tested, five thousand year old system of medicine - Ayurveda.
Here palatial rooms envelope you in a peace and intimacy alien to the modern world. Rejuvenation rooms speak volumes about the wisdom of yesteryear. Traditional architecture surrounds you with the quintessence of the Kerala ethos - that God lies in the details, waiting to be discovered in the most unexpected places. In this vibrant ambience, Ayurveda regimens take you back to your pure self, in sync with the nature that surrounds you. Slowly you will revel in the earthiness that reflects our philosophy - that luxury lies in simplicity; that less is more; that the magic you seek lies hidden in what you already have. Setting you free. To discover life and all its simple joys all over again.
