Cooking Experience: The term "Sadya" meaning "Feast" in the local language is popular throughout Kerala. Going by legend, once a namboothiri, the local administrator of the King, advised him that while nothing else, be it money or dress, can force people to say "sufficient "or "no more", only a "Sadya" (Meal with a lot of dishes) can satisfy them,as it has the power to make people say "enough". Thus it became a custom to have a sadya at all functions.
It is both fun and interesting to learn to cook the famous Kerala dishes. Our in-house food specialist Mrs Rajee Tomy will introduce you to the nuances of Kerala cooking and teach you a trick or two.
Outdoor Activities: Munnar is a hill town of undulating mountains and tea gardens. Due to its mountainous terrain, it has been highly regarded as a trekking destination for travellers to South India. Most of Munnar's higher reaches (7000'-8500') are forested and notified as reserve forests. The ecology here is of the grassland-shola type (high altitude mountainous forests). Such a terrain may be ecologically fragile but makes for great trekking trails.
Munnar offers great trekking and walking opportunities for the outdoor enthusiast to experience the spectacular beauty of the wilderness, the magnificent wildlife (the unique Nilgiri Tahr) and the exotic flora (the exclusive Neelakurinji blossoms every 12 years)
Trekking trips can be planned for four hours / six hours or longer to match your preference
