Col & Mrs John Abraham - your local connection in Kerala will ensure you have a memorable KERALA EXPERIENCE. Kerala - "God's Own Country" - a land bestowed with beauty so enchanting that visitors and warriors alike have been attracted to its shores since ages - the warmth and hospitality of its people, the exotic produces of this Spice Garden and the inviting coconut groves that Mother Nature has gifted to its people have made it one of the most sought after tourist destinations in Asia.
The Houseboat cruises the backwaters and the network of canals and rivers during the day - drops anchor for the night in the Lake. All meals are served on board. The Houseboats are manned by a crew of 3-4 locals - 2 boatmen, a cook and an assistant. The cook may even double up as a boatman or life guard when required. Houseboats come in different categories all customised to suit the tastes of the owners. Being handcrafted, each houseboat will have its own individual features and facilities, with no two houseboats being identical in all respects. They are powered by inboard and / or outboard engines. The general facilities include AC / Non AC bedrooms, living room, sun deck, attached bathrooms with bio-toilets, solar lighting, kitchen, and music system. Houseboats come in 1 bedroom, 2 bedroom, 3 bedroom and 5 bedroom variants.
Meals - A common denominator in all houseboats is Kerala cuisine. Cuisine in Kerala is a mix of Vegetarian and Non- Vegetarian (Chicken, Duck, Mutton, and Seafood) with a distinct Coconut base. North Kerala has an entirely different range of cuisine which is termed as Malabar Cuisine which has lot of varieties of spices incorporated. The cook-cum-boatman-cum-lifeguard produces some exotic local fare. If you are lucky with fishing while on board, you can have a meal with the catch of the day.
