On arrival at Cochin International Airport/Railway Station, you are greeted and transferred toBrunton Boatyardin Fort Cochin. Afternoon sightseeing of Cochin - Jewish Synagogue, Dutch Palace, Saint Francis Church, Chinese Fishing Nets, etc. Followed by a harbour cruise with overnight stay at Brunton Boatyard.
DAY TWO
Wake-up at leisure to see the boats passing by for the catch of the day. After a colonial breakfast, get ready to travel to the unique backwater destination. Check-in toCoconut Lagoonfor an authentic experience of Kerala and its backwaters.
Rated as one of the 25 best getaways in the world, Coconut Lagoon is an attempt to capture the essence of the Kerala experience in a unique setting. Lunch served in the main restaurant, which resembles the old Keralan style of house. Afternoon at leisure or canoe out into the backwaters and explore this fascinating world just like the locals do. Or you can go fishing with one of the simple bamboo poles the staff usually have. By evening get back to your independent cottage to change for the sunset cruise in the Vembanad Lake.
After the cruise, it's learning time. Learn to cook some authentic Keralan dishes in the Cooking demonstration class organised by the Chef (you will get the recipes of all dishes made to try it at home). The resort gives an opportunity to see some traditional art forms of Kerala, which is followed by dinner. Overnight stay at Coconut Lagoon.
DAY THREE
Wake-up to the calls from the birds from in the nearby bird sanctuary and get ready to experience yoga for your body and mind. After breakfast, soft trek to the bird sanctuary accompanied by a Naturalist who will identify the birds and help you spot them. Before lunch there is enough time to visit the Village nearby. Then it is back in the resort for lunch. Afternoon at leisure. Evening engage in yet another session of cooking demonstrations and a cultural show. Dinner and overnight stay at the Coconut Lagoon.
DAY FOUR
After breakfast, another session of yoga, then transfer by boat and then road to Marari Beach. Check-in to an independent villa at the Marari Beach. Marari Beach resort is not just the sand and the sea. It's the living environment that surrounds it that makes it special. The Marari Beach, let us be clear, is not the place for a raucous beach holiday. There are no real parties here and no noisy water scooters. Designed for those seeking to undo the stress of the city life and experience a completely new place, this is the perfect spot. After lunch in the restaurant, it's time to relax in the coconut grove. Evening will be engaged in good music, cooking classes, followed by dinner. Overnight stay at theMarari Beach.
DAY FIVE
By now you will be an expert on yoga! You wont need a wake up call anymore for the daily class. After breakfast, explore the area and it's fishing villages nearby on a bicycle or take a dip in the sea. The beach is usually being nearly empty except for a few other guests and the old local fishermen.
After lunch, your time is at leisure. It will be a great idea to walk across the road to their organic farm, which ensures that the vegetables and fruits we serve are the freshest you can get. You don't want to leave, do you? This is the last chance where you can approach the chef for any assistance/clarifications regarding the recipes you would have collected over the past three/four days. After dinner, walk back to your Independent Villa at Marari Beach already making plans for your next visit.
DAY SIX
After breakfast, emotional drive back to Cochin International Airport/Railway Station.
